Eaters. my electronic art rock group with Bob Jones and Christopher Duffy, has a song featured on the new compilation S&S Presents: Dreams, out now on Cascine.  Our track “Finland” was created for the website Stadiums & Shrines and their series Dreams, in which a musical artist writes a song inspired by a collage of a place, which is then given accompanying text.  The double-LP compilation contains a bound book of each collage and text, with original compositions from Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Bing & Ruth, Yumi Zouma, Julie Byrne, and many more.  To learn more, read this interview with the duo behind S&S on the FADER, and pick up a copy of this beautiful record from Cascine now.

NYC punk freaks Surfbort have released a new video for “45” from their upcoming debut album on Cult Records and a single from Muddguts.  I co-produced/recorded/mixed/mastered the song earlier this year at Thump and Studio Windows (my new studio with Jake Aron) in Brooklyn, NY.  The hilarious, decidedly NSFW video was directed by Jim Tozzi (of Wonder Showzen and Xavier: Warrior Angel) and Sarah Ratty.  Check them out this fall on tour with Black Lips and Iceage! #fucktrump #nsfw

Lush, the debut record from teenage indie-pop sensations Snail Mail, is out now on Matador Records.  I recorded this album at Outlier Inn and Doctor Wu’s with Jake Aron, who also produced and mixed the record.  Fun fact: Lush was the the first record recorded in the new Studio A at Outlier Inn, the first record mixed at Studio Windows (the new studio started by me and Jake), and one of the last records worked on at Doctor Wu’s before it closed.  Joe LaPorta mastered the record at Sterling Sound.

Lush has been greeted with near-universal acclaim from Best New Music (and a score of 8.7) on Pitchfork; to features in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe; to reviews in nearly every music-related publication, and many non-musical ones as well.  Check it out if you haven’t already!

Fresh off their EU tour, Bodega have released their latest single “Gyrate” off their upcoming debut Endless Scroll (which I mixed, mastered, and helped to record).  I’m also playing with Bodega, as part of Pill/Eaters (an improv collaborative group featuring members of Pill and Eaters, duh), at Sunnyvale on June 1.  While the official release of their LP has been pushed back, they will have copies at the show, which also features the awesome new dance-punk quartet Public Practice.  Endless Scroll is now out July 6 via What’s Your Rupture.

Wide Awake!, the new album by Parquet Courts, is out now via Rough Trade.  The LP was produced by Dangermouse (at Electric Lady in NYC and Sonic Ranch in TX), mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer, and mastered by Joe LaPorta at Sterling Sound.  I spent a couple days working on additional recording and arrangements at Doctor Wu’s, including field-recording the children’s choir on “Death Will Bring Change”.  Wide Awake! has already received rave reviews from a range of publications including Rolling Stone, NME, NPR, and many more.  Buy and/or stream it now.

“Jack in Titanic”, the latest single from Bodega’s upcoming album Endless Scroll, is out now. Pitchfork, Paste, DIY Mag, Brooklyn Vegan and others covered the song, the third single from the debut LP.  I mixed, mastered, and helped record Endless Scroll, which was produced and recorded by Austin Brown of Parquet Courts.  Endless Scroll comes out June 1 via What’s Your Rupture… in the meantime, check out Bodega in a city near you.

Yonatan Gat‘s new album Universalists is out now!  Yonatan is the former band-leader of Monotonix, was named “Best Guitarist in NYC” by the Village Voice, and is an absolutely stunning performer.  I mixed two songs on this record, which was assembled over a period of three years in about a dozen locations with about that many engineers.  Universalists has been featured on both NPR, Tidal, and many other publications, and is available on LP/CD/download from Joyful Noise.
