NYC art-pop-freak quintet Foyer Red have released their debut LP Yarn The Hours Away. SPIN and Flood both ran features on the band, alongside rave reviews from Allmusic (Editor’s Choice), Loud & Quiet (“upfront, earnest music for upfront, earnest hearts”), Paste (“a roller coaster ride from start to finish that keeps you completely engaged and on the edge of your seat”), and Brooklyn Vegan (“technicolor blasts of manic pop, catchy whirwinds that shift gears frequently… sweeping you off your feet, spinning you round and depositing you somewhere else entirely, dazed and giddy”). I produced this album with the band, recording primarily at Figure 8, with additional overdubs & mixing done at Studio Windows, and the record was mastered by Joe Lambert. I love this band – they’re terrific live and absolute sweethearts – and I’m so proud of the work we did on this album! You should absolutely check this one out. Yarn The Hours Away is out now on Carpark Records.

NYC freak-pop quintet Foyer Red have shared “Pocket”, the latest single from their upcoming LP Yarn The Hours Away. The single -which was accompanied by a wild stop-motion video from Dewey Pileggi – was featured on Stereogum, Our Culture, and Brooklyn Vegan, who also interviewed the band about their influences. This song was one of the last written for the record – and “by all means a wild card”, according to Elana – so it’s fun to see this released as a single. Yarn The Hours Away was recorded at Figure 8 Recording, mixed at Studio Windows, and was mastered by Joe Lambert. The album comes out May 19 via Carpark Records, and I’m DJing the record release show at Union Pool on May 26!

“Gorgeous” is the newest single from NYC art-pop freaks Foyer Red. Stereogum writes that “it lives up to its name” and Brooklyn Vegan called the track “unexpected”. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the upcoming new LP – I loved the demo, and fell for it even harder once I found out the lyrics were pulled from spoonerisms by the band’s drummer Marco. “Gorgeous” is from Foyer Red’s debut LP Yarn The Hours Away, which was recorded at Figure 8 Recording and mixed at Studio Windows, and mastered by Joe Lambert. Yarn The Hours Away is out May 19 on Carpark Records.

Foyer Red – one of my favorite new groups in NYC – released the new single “Plumbers Unite” and announced their debut LP Yarn The Hours Away on Carpark Records. Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, Our Culture Mag, and others picked up the song, which follows “ETC” (also from Yarn). I produced the record with the group last summer, recording at Figure 8 and mixing at Studio Windows; the album was mastered by Joe Lambert. I cannot overstate how psyched I am about this record, or how awesome this band is live! They’re going on tour in March with Why Bonnie and Kolezanka (with many overlapping members between the three bands), and on tour in May with Deeper – do yourselves a favor and go check them out. Yarn The Hours Away is out May 19 on Carpark Records.

NYC art-pop quintet Foyer Red are back with the new single “ETC” on Carpark Records! The song was featured in Paste Magazine’s Best Songs Of The Week (“it’s perfect”), Brooklyn Vegan (“it’s a joy”), Stereogum, and others. I produced this track with the group over the summer, recording at Figure 8 Recording and mixing at Studio Windows, with Joe Lambert mastering. From mastering their self-recorded EP Zigzag Wombat, to recording the singles that came out earlier this year, and seeing their incredible live show get better and better, Foyer Red has quickly become one of my favorite bands, and some of the sweetest people as well. Expect great things to come in the new year! “ETC” is out now on Carpark Records.

NYC-via-Phoenix art rock project Kolezanka has released the new single “Canals Of Our City”. Stereogum calls it “a pattering and melodic track that builds into a gorgeous swirl”, Here Comes the Flood calls it “genre-defying art-rock” and Under The Radar featured it as well. I had heard about Kristina and her project Kolezanka from a variety of friends around Brooklyn, but didn’t meet her until last fall when she started playing with Foyer Red, and I feel fortunate to have been able to work with her on so much amazing music over the past year. “Canals Of Our City” is the first single from her upcoming sophomore LP Alone with the Sound the Mind Makes, which was recorded at Pulp Arts in Gainsville, Florida, and which I mixed & mastered at Studio Windows. It’s an incredible album, and I can’t wait for people to hear it! Alone with the Sound the Mind Makes is out February 15 via Bar/None Records.

NYC’s art-pop weirdos Foyer Red are back with “Pollen City”, which Stereogum calls “a satisfyingly disjointed jam”. “Pollen City” is the third (of three) songs I recorded with them earlier this year, but whereas “Pickles” and “Flipper” dated back to the groups first EP Zigzag Wombat, “Pollen City” was written by their current quintet lineup and points forward to their next batch of songs. These songs were tracked at Living Rooms and mixed/mastered at Studio Windows in February 2022, and are all available on the group’s Bandcamp.

NYC-based weirdo pop group Foyer Red are back with the new single “Pickles”, which Stereogum calls “tightly would and spunky”. I recorded this song at Living Rooms Studio and mixed/mastered it at Studio Windows with them earlier this year, and it is from the same sessions as the previously released “Flipper”. Like that song, these are from the same era as the Zigzag Wombat EP, but played live with the expanded quintet lineup they have now. These two new songs just scratch the surface of where this band is headed – y’all are in for a treat! “Pickles” and “Flipper” are available now on Bandcamp.

NYC-based art-pop weirdos Foyer Red are back with a new song “Flipper”. After turning a lot of heads last year with their debut EP Zigzag Wombat, this new track was featured on Paste (“the band somehow manage to outdo themselves”), Under The Radar (“one of the most promising and entertaining new voices in indie rock”), Stereogum (“sweetly manic”), and others. “Flipper” is the first of a batch of new songs I worked on with the group, recording at Living Rooms Studio and mixing/mastering at Studio Windows. If you’ve seen Foyer Red live, you’ll know that this group is really coming into their own, and this is just a taste of what’s to come. “Flipper” is out now!
