Wish On The Bone – the second full-length album by Why Bonnie – is out now. Pitchfork recently reviewed the LP (7.4), Paste gave it their “Pick” (8.2), and Under The Radar wrote that the album “finds the group consolidating their powers and plowing confidently forward”. I produced the record with Blair Howerton, recorded it at Figure 8 and Studio Windows, and mixed & mastered it at Studio Windows. I loved working with the group on their debut (90 In November), and we were able to use those sessions as a jump off point for this record – from an extended pre-production, to excellent live takes at Figure 8, through experimental production and arrangement ideas (I played synth & fx on a handful of songs), to the final mixing & mastering. It’s a beautiful record, and I’m happy it’s out in the world! Wish On The Bone is out now of Fire Talk Records.

NYC-via-Austin Americana rockers Why Bonnie are back with the single “Dotted Line” and the announcement of their signing to Fire Talk Records. With press in Stereogum, Under The Radar, and more, this is the first song from a batch of new material I produced with the group last year. We recorded this song at Figure 8 Recording in the spring, and I mixed & mastered it at Studio Windows last fall. This is one of my favorite songs Blair has written, and just a taste of what’s to come. “Dotted Line” is out now on Fire Talk.

The Slab EP – the latest from Louisville trio Wombo – is out now on Fire Talk Records. This four-song collection – as covered by So Young, Flood, The Line Of Best Fit and others – ranges from post-punk thrashers to dream pop and acoustic songs. The EP was recored in Louisville by Nick Roeder, mixed by me at Studio Windows (in Brooklyn, NY), and mastered by Greg Obis at Chicago Mastering Service. The Slab EP is out now via Fire Talk Records.

Louisville-based power-trio Wombo are back with “Slab”, the title track from the upcoming Slab EP. The track (and its surreal band-made video) was featured on Northern Transmissions and Our Culture, and was released on the eve of their first UK tour. The EP was recored in Louisville by Nick Roeder, mixed by me at Studio Windows (in Brooklyn, NY), and mastered by Greg Obis at Chicago Mastering Service. The Slab EP is out June 9 via Fire Talk Records.

Louisville-based weirdo rocker trio Wombo are back with their new LP Fairy Rust. The record is Brooklyn Vegan’s Album Of The Week on Indie Basement (and you can read an interview with them elsewhere on the site), Paste Magazine says the album “casts an unbreakable spell”, and The Fader calls it “an intriguing art-rock elixir”. The band recorded with long-time collaborator Nick Roeder in Louisville, mixed with Dave Vettraino in Chicago, and I mastered it at Studio Windows in Brooklyn. Fairy Rust is out now on Fire Talk Records.
