Yonatan Gat‘s new album Universalists is out now!  Yonatan is the former band-leader of Monotonix, was named “Best Guitarist in NYC” by the Village Voice, and is an absolutely stunning performer.  I mixed two songs on this record, which was assembled over a period of three years in about a dozen locations with about that many engineers.  Universalists has been featured on both NPR, Tidal, and many other publications, and is available on LP/CD/download from Joyful Noise.

My group Eaters are featured on Dreams, the new compilation by Stadiums & Shrines and Cascine, featuring original music by Bing & Ruth, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Julie Byrne, Yumi Zouma, Mutual Benefit and more. The deluxe 2LP set comes in a gatefold jacket with a 20-page booklet of original collage and prose stitched to the interior. “Pristine”, the first single from Snail Mail‘s upcoming LP Lush, was just awarded “Best New Track” by Pitchfork.  The album was produced by my studio partner Jake Aron, which I helped record at Outlier Inn (in Woodridge, NY, on their Neve VR) and our old studio Doctor Wu’s (in Brooklyn, NY).  I’m very happy to have been a part of this record, and very proud of the band and Jake for the work they put into this gorgeous work.  Lush comes out June 8 on Matador Records.

Surfbort‘s Romance EP is out now on Cult Records.  I mastered these songs on this limited edition flexi-disc 7″, which were recorded by Chad Ubovich (Fuzz, Meatbodies) and Jonathan Krenik, and come with a poster and sticker.  We’re wrapping up their full-length debut now, which I recorded at Thump and am mixing/mastering at my new studio in Brooklyn – stay tuned!

NYC’s post-punk quintet Bodega premiered “How Did This Happen?!”, which was featured on Brooklyn Vegan, Northern Transmissions, DIY Mag, and Clash.  “How?!” is the first single from their debut album Endless Scroll, produced and recorded by Austin Brown (of Parquet Courts), and mixed/mastered by me at Doctor Wu’s.  Endless Scroll is out June 1 on What’s Your Rupture; in the meantime, catch the band at SXSW, around NYC, and in Europe this spring.
